Gerlitzen Pistenflitzer - Austria's first downhill kart track has opened and offers fun for the old and young! Summer comes with two fabulous kart tracks at the mid-station of the Kanzelhöhe ski lift, including the Classico track for families and the Dirittissima speed track for those longing for an extra thrill.
Speed the tracks powered by nothing but the force of gravity! Uphill transportation by Moser double chairlift. The facility has a capacity of 250 karts per hour and is therefore perfectly suitable for large groups.
Downhill ride: 2 minutes. Uphill ride: approx. 5 minutes.
Discounted multi-ride cards (3, 6 or 12 rides) are available and may be shared by several people. Valid throughout the summer season.
50 % off Pistenflitzer rides with each purchase of a T4 ticket (Annenheim/Ossiachersee to Gerlitzen/viewpoint and return - Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn and Gerlitzen Gipfelbahn lifts return ticket). One T4 ticket entitles to a 50% discount on an uphill ride on the Moser double chairlift and a downhill ride with the Gerlitzen Pistenflitzer.
From the summit to Pöllingerhütte and on to the Gerlitzen Pistenflitzer start area at the Moserbahn lift (walking trail no. 2 - see 2007 Gerlitzen summer brochure) - walking time approx. 45 minutes
A well-maintained and way-marked trail leads to Pöllingerhütte (past the paragliders' take-off point at Gerlitzen Gipfelhaus and the model-airplane area at Alpengasthof Pacheiner). Once at Pöllingerhütte, you can pay a visit to the Mountain Museum (Berg- und Almmuseum). Then continue across the mountain pastures and head for the Moserbahn top station (double chairlift), the start of the Gerlitzen Pistenflitzer speed track.
2 options: You can either take the more leisurely way down (recommended for families; minimum height 1.30 meters), or the challenging speed track. Both tracks take you to the Kanzelbahn top station, where you can enter the cable car for a fabulous downhill ride.
Tickets for the Pistenflitzer experience are available from the ticket counters, the Pöllingerhütte, Steinwender Hütte and Turnerhütte mountain restaurants and at the start.
Ticket prices per ride (lift ticket not included!): EUR 3 per adult; EUR 2.50 per child (taller than 1.30 m)
The Krastal Symposium is still a top address when it comes to contemporary stone sculpting!
Austrian and international artists meet to work in the Lauster marble quarry and at the Krastal Bildhauerhaus, thus drawing public attention to modern stone sculpting.
In the course of the 2010 Symposium the focus will be on erratic blocks, which are to be turned into contemporary sculptures.
Egon Straszer and Ulrich Plieschnig will work in the Lauster quarry, together with six other artists, and present a number of smaller works at the Bildhauerhaus museum.
