The zest for life gleams turquoise.
Lake Faak is the region’s southernmost recreational lake with an enchanting little island and a hotel in the middle. Sparkling in the summer sunshine, its pristine water is the turquoise blue of picture postcards. Lake Faak has primarily made a name for itself as a paradise for families.
Perching on a mighty rock high above the lake is Finkenstein Castle. It was saved from ruin by its present owner Mr Satran, who now holds a music and cabaret festival in the castle’s renovated arena. It truly is a unique experience watching the sun slowly sinking in the west behind the stage, as you listen to the music of such stars as Al Bano Carrisi, Montserrat Caballé or Randy Crawford.
Every year Lake Faak is also the venue for the European Bike Week, which started off as a Harley-Davidson rally. Since the brand restriction was lifted, even more crowds have flocked here and the spectacle has become even more colourful.
