A tour around Lake Ossiacher See on cycle path R2 definitely pays off. Starting at the Gerlitzen cable cars valley station, you will pass by many a historical place. Afritz am See is located in the middle of the Nockberge Mountains. There is a permanent downhill course where mountain bikers are even transported uphill to the start by chairlift. Then downhill at a racy speed on the 2,1 km long route, overcoming 380 metres in altitude difference.

The centre of cycling is Lake Faaker See where the world championship took place in 1987. Today you can test your physical condition on the former world championship race course.
