Easter Market in Villach
Annually from the Thursday before Palm Sunday to Holy Saturday in Villach City Centre
The first signs of spring have appeared, nature has woken from its winter slumber – in Villach it is Easter.
Annually from the Thursday before Palm Sunday to Holy Saturday the traditional Easter market arrives in Villach and lingering in the historic town centre becomes a spring experience! Enjoy the colourful mix of all imaginable goods and delicacies – in addition to traditional Easter products such as decorated Easter candles and Easter basket covers and doilies, there are artisanal treats such as Easter ham, Reindling (a cake with raisins and cinnamon) and sausages.
CHILDRENS PROGRAMME AT THE EASTER MARKET
The children’s railway does the rounds on the townhall square, nestled in a beautiful spring scape, which reflects the coming of the warmer season. Pony rides are also available – daily on the lower Kirchenplatz square, as well as a carousel on the Hauptplatz (main square).
